The low down on the SF run around
With the trip beginning with the usual suspects in Vancouver (you've seen that part already), I hopped a plane on Tuesday at 6am and arriving in San Francisco for 8:30am. This was by far the most pleasant traveling experience I've had to date. Watching the sun rise at 32,000 ft is never bad.
My accommodations at the Hotel Des Arts changed various times during my stay but the opportunity to stay in different rooms, each painted by different amazing artists, was a treat. The evening staff gave me a tour of various vacant rooms and welcomed me to wander the halls.

Hotel Des Arts also has a mobile gallery for the iPhone now available via iTunes

Tuesday night was the 30th consecutive Tuesday night session of Sketch Tuesdays at 111 Minna. Happy 30th to these guys, they did it right! The theme of the night had something to do with timed/judged drawing of a live burlesque model and a row of tables lined with some serious talent. I wish I had arrived earlier to spend more time with the fine folks rockin the pens and brushes but I guess that means I'll have to make it back down for another. I recognized a lot of the artists styles, but wasn't able to get a lot of names, except for Sam Flores, who was painting up a storm. Also, due to the live, half naked model, I was weary of taking photos during the night so when I come across someone else who has images and wants to share, I'll let you know.
