Robots and Monsters 2009

@Ayden Gallery, for me is one of the most anticipated art exhibits of the year in Vancouver, BC. There is always such an amazing line up of artist, insane work produced and lots and lots of people. 

This year did not deviate from the hype of previous shows as the gallery was well packed from open to close, live music from Humans, Jordan Quinn doing some live painting and the brief visit from some massive monstrous robot dude.  

I stopped in the night before the show to hang out, get some photos, abuse Ken and basically not really help out at all. 

See, I wasn't the only one standing around.

At least Pirecco was hard at work. 

Pirecco's work is so good! I hope this cool cat and his lady stick around this side of the border for a while.

And so began the opening night mayhem...

Best 'hello' ever!

Seriously, can you rent these kids to come and show up at art shows? Crazy rad helmet girl!

Yeah, then this dude shows up in this monstrous robotic costume, knocks down the 'Ayden' sign out front, cruises around, hangs out for the photo op then takes his 'girls' and goes.

Once people started to notice him it was hard to get a good shot but here you can see how freaking massive he was.

Then, thankfully, Peter and Robbie that are Humans, rocked us into the night.

There were so many people everywhere that most of the time I just held my camera in the air firing off flashes into the crowd. I'm such a shorty that unless I have a step stool or sturdy shoulders to climb on, overhead shots are almost always out of focus. You get the idea. Robots and Monsters 2009 was definitely fantastic.
