100 Amigos

Opening night for 100 Amigos was a little crazier than their usual shows. 100 canvases from 100 friends and one hour to transform the retail store into a gallery space.
As the line grew out front of the locked doors well before 9pm, a sign went up for show goers to announce the inevitable delay, pushing the opening time to 9:30 then again to 10pm.
By 10pm, an hour after the original posted time, the crowd out front was pouring past the store front and down Robson. Not that this is anything new for this popular urban art clothing store. They are well versed in hosting packed house art shows and masters of crowd control.
100 Amigos was no exception. After the final preparations were done, the doors opened and within minutes, the room was completely packed.

Thanks so much to everyone at El Kartel for such an amazing show. The work these guys put into getting 100 artist friends together must have way more bananas than a regular show. Well done!!!

Camilla d'Errico Release Party
@ El Kartel in Vancouver, BC.
The snow was coming down in big pukey chunks but it was all warm and pretty inside El Kartel with the product release party for Camilla d'Errico.
Camilla's dreamy images have crept off the canvas and nestled themselves on to some of the cutest bags, shirts, scarves, hats and charms that you ever did see!
Saturday night, d'Errico's darlings were the focus of the party as fans rushed to claim their wearable art. (I know I did!) Big thanks to Camilla and the tenacious team at El Kartel!!!
