Dance generally refers to movement of the body, usually rhythmic and to music, used as a form of expression, social interaction or in a spiritual or performance setting.
This event will showcase women in the Vancouver music and art culture with a focus on the urban dance scene. Steady Rockin’ Productions will be hosting an invitational urban dance showcase featuring performers Natasha Gorrie (Stonefoxxx) together with Stewart Iguidez (OTI), as well as a Bonnie & Clyde style break dance battle. B-Girls and B-Boys will team up to show off their funky, fresh flava to see who will come out on top. Prizes will be awarded to the top duo for style, originality and flava!
Dj’s She and Bles-sed will be throwing down the freshest in Funk, Hip Hop & Breaks for the dancers. Vocalists NaRai & Mary James will hold it down on the mic with their silky, smooth sounds and 2 of VanCity’s finest graffiti artists will be in attendance to give us a taste of street art with an art exhibit & silent auction.
Join us in the co-creation and rebirth of VanCity’s urban music, art & dance scene!
