Sensory Overload will showcase artists works that explore the senses of sight, smell, touch, taste and sound through large installations, performances, samplings and interactions.
Instinct Gallery will be transformed into an experience not to miss, with over 30 artists and performers exhibiting. The opening reception will include large installations, interactive video and sound displays, tribal belly dance performances, musical performances, live silkscreen and art demos, beer samplings and pairings, local food samplings, and much more.

Possible Projects is pleased to host Chicago-based Sighn's exhibition
entitled "When All Is Said & Done."
Sighn’s work speaks of the vulnerability of emotions and materializes via text-based objects, hoping to connect us as humans. He states that “the pieces tend to deliver a hug, a pat on the back, or a chuckle.” By using immediate and fleeting phrases, one is able to absorb the stream of consciousness continuously running through his work.
Sighn’s largest and most demanding project, ITSOK, is estimated for completion in the next 40-60 years. The phrase ITSOK is hand-cut and is a “limited” edition of one million. As part of the exhibition, Sighn will feature a specially produced set entitled “Forever”, referencing the night sky as part the larger ongoing series ITSOK.
His new series "We're All Gonna Die" consists of a variety of headstones with the last words spoken immediately before or after the moment of death. The foreboding tone of the piece is quickly dissolved upon reading the satirical comments engraved for eternity.
His phrases are melancholic and elegiac, while simultaneously leaving the viewers feeling therapeutically better about themselves. Sighn stated that he saw these works as “small gestures, small mementos for people,” optimistically implying that these poetic works can make a difference for positive change.

The Pacificthorn showroom is proud to present a group show celebrating the launch of ‘Unlike the Latter.’ A zine launch presented by this season’s new additions to the Emily Carr Foundation program.
Unlike the Latter, is founded by Merlin Heintzman Hope- 2009 graduate of the Buchlen Mowatt/ Arts Umbrella program instructed by Christian Nicolay.

“Unlike the Latter”
Vol. 1 Issue 1 celebrates the collaborative premier of local artists in the launch of a new local arts zine. The goal of the zine is to produce properly curated 'shows', each unlike the last- based on a new theme or topic- but compiled into a concentrated and very distinguished booklet.
For first issue, the theme was decided to be very basic, something that everyone could relate to. Personal captivity and applied institution. Each artist produced a piece (or two) that reflected a unique understanding of freedom, differentiating the social stigmas and institutions of men and animals, and parallels that can be drawn between them. The product, for the most part, reflected animalistic urges and desires of the artists, to return to the wild, if you will.
The show accompanying the launch is also somewhat of a call of the wild as well, discussing the Pandora's box of animal to man and the various -isms of the wild man and the tame animal.

Beauty can transmit more then mere information regarding the spirit of a nation, and the 8 works selected by Peter Male for the Vancouver edition of ContainerArt have made me sense what a wonderful and complex country Canada is. Neal Nolan's train hopping story through the enormity of Canadian nature is an experience entirely alien to us Europeans.

Artists Nolan, Bender and Gotro rode freight (Inter modal Container- the same containers used in the container art installations world wide) into BC's interior collecting the stories, imagery and inspiration for the installation.' on September 10th inclusive 5 limited edition silver gelatin prints by Bill Daniel.
